What Shows Am I Excited For?
And What I Expect To See

New York

Victoria Beckham Collection
Making her first public appearance since the birth of daughter, Harper, it will be interesting to see how Victoria uses her pregnancy as an inspiration. I imagine floaty fabrics, and loose silhouettes in the same vein as last season.

Joseph Altuzarra
Altuzarra remains one of the hot, young designers to watch this season. With the backing of friends like Vanessa Traina, Melanie Huynh, and Carine Roitfeld he will, no doubt, display the kind of body-con sex appeal he is known for.

Marc Jacobs Collection
With the current rumors floating around about Marc making the move to Christian Dior, his first collection of the season will no doubt be watched intensely to see if he is up for the monumental task.

Michael Kors
Following a blockbuster fall collection (seriously, is there any look that didn't appear in an editorial or on the red carpet) avid sportswear followers will be looking to see how Mr. Kors follows up to such a success.

Jason Wu
Catching his stride is putting it lightly. Jason Wu is now a full fledged design superstar. I expect to see more of his trademark lady like style with a fresh twist for summer.

Milan

Emilio Pucci
Love him or hate him Peter Dundas' clothing is incredibly popular in the fashion circles. His show will dictate alot of trends for the summer and of course, what says summer better than a bold Pucci print and a sexy tan?

Dolce & Gabbana
Hot on the heels of their last two monumentally successful collections it will be interesting to see if this design duo goes and blows it with some tacky sex romp that most in the fashion industry expect from them.

No. 21
In Alessandro Dell'Acqua's fourth show for No. 21 I expect him to have fully formed the type of brand he wants to build. So far the clothes are for the pretty, cool girl with a bit of a sexy, Italian edge. I expect to see a major collection from him that garners a lot of press.

Salvatore Ferragamo
Following the perfect lady like edge of the fall collection and the disco/sailor vibe of the resort show it will be fun to see how Massimiliano Giornetti uses the brands success and heritage to put a fun twist on spring.

Versace
The resort collection garnered alot of attention for how un-Versace it was. Girl's who arn't "Versace Girls" suddenly found themselves drawn to Donatella's fresh prints and sharp tailoring. I am hoping to see an extension of this for the spring collection.

Paris

Chanel
It's Chanel, it's Karl Lagerfeld. We all know what Karl shows will set the trends for the next season. No matter what (clogs anyone?).

Christian Dior
Following the widely panned couture show, it will be interesting what the design house will show for spring with the absence of their former leader. A lot of eyes will be on this show this season as the rumors of Galliano's replacement run wild.

Hakaan
Again, another hot, young brand to keep your eye on. With his usual superstar casting (Natalia, Lara, Daria, Alessandra) it will always be just as interesting to see what girls take to the runway as it is to see what is on them.

Louis Vuitton
With this potentially being Marc Jacobs last collection for the house, as well as his 10th anniversary at the house people will be looking to see how the Marc Jacobs look is interpreted at this storied French fashion house.

Celine
In line with the Marc Jacobs for Dior rumors, another rumor is that his replacement at Vuitton will be Phoebe Philo, currently the designer for Celine. With those rumors aside, since taking the reigns at Celine, Philo has turned the house into the ultimate minimalist, chic paradise for all the cool girls.

Emanuel Ungaro
This troubled house has seen designers come and go but for his third season with the brand I hope to see Giles Deacon hit his stride and really show us what he is envisioning for the brand.

Giambattista Valli
Following his smash couture collection people will be still looking at this talented designer to see what wonderful creations he will make.

Isabel Marant
Much like Chanel, Isabel Marant seems to dictate trends with her shows. Marant will be the destination of the cool Parisian girls and everyone who wants to look like them (aka everyone).

Mugler
The recently revived house will be showing it's second major collection under the leadership of Nicola Formichetti. It will be interesting to see if this collection will continue in the current way of creating insane, intense, editorial friendly clothes, or if Nicola will move more towards consumer friendly looks.
