Daphne Guinness
After reading this fantastic article on the infamous Daphne Guinness, I decided to do a post on one of my favorite, and most original, style scions. She plays the role of muse to just about everyone who has the ability to be inspired; Valentino, Tom Ford, Rei Kawakubo, François Nars, Giles Deacon, Karl Lagerfeld, and Azzedine Alaïa, just to name a few. She was also part of the notorious trifecta that was herself, Isabella Blow, and Alexander McQueen who all helped reshape and redefine fashion in the 21st century.
The Honourable Daphne Suzannah Diana Joan Guinness was born in 1967 to the 2rd Baron Moyne, Jonathan Guinness, and French model Suzanne Lisney. She spent her childhood and adolescence living in eccentric bohemian luxury from Ireland, to England, to Spain (where her parents played hosts to the likes of Man Ray and Salvador Dalí). She spent the 80's in New York partying with the Warhol crowd, but in 1987 at the age of 19 married Greek shipping billionaire Stavros Niarchos. A marriage that ended 1999 and produced 3 children. Since her divorce Daphne has reinvented herself into a walking form of art with the help of her friends Isabella Blow, Philip Treacy, and Alexander McQueen. Since then her eccentric beauty has been well documented all over the world.
By the way, you can follow her on Twitter here, trust me, it's worth it.
